Meet Amanda
I’m a wife, mom of three, and Nana to a grandson, living in Springfield, Missouri. Life in my world is full, meaningful, and centered around the people I love most.
I’m completely obsessed with reading and always have a book nearby. I also love gardening—especially succulents—and my house is filled with plants (definitely more than I need, but I love them). Being surrounded by things that grow and change brings a sense of calm and balance to my day.
I enjoy traveling and experiencing new places, even though I equally appreciate the comfort of my routines at home. My husband and I are often wandering through antique malls, deciding what treasures we might bring home next.
We also have a Morkie, named Cupcake, who is very much part of the family.
As an eating disorder therapist in Missouri, I value balance, flexibility, and creating a life that feels sustainable and fulfilling—something I aim to live out in my own life as well.
I’m a licensed clinical social worker, professor, and therapist providing eating disorder and anxiety therapy across Missouri through telehealth, including Springfield and surrounding communities.
With over two decades of experience in social work, I’ve worked across a wide range of settings—from child welfare and family services to higher education and clinical practice. Today, I specialize in helping high-achieving women and men who are struggling with anxiety, perfectionism, and their relationship with food.
In addition to my clinical work, I serve as a professor at Missouri State University, where I teach and mentor future social workers. My background in both research and real-world clinical practice allows me to bring evidence-based, practical strategies into every session.
My therapy approach integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), EMDR, Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), and Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT) to help you not only understand what’s happening—but actually create meaningful, lasting change.
Clients often come to me feeling overwhelmed, stuck in cycles of anxiety or binge eating, and frustrated that nothing seems to “work.” Together, we focus on breaking those patterns, reducing the pressure you carry, and helping you feel more calm, in control, and connected to yourself.
I believe therapy should feel supportive, down-to-earth, and effective—a place where you can be honest, feel understood, and leave with tools you can actually use in your daily life.
Whether you’re navigating anxiety, perfectionism, or eating concerns, you don’t have to figure it out alone.
